New head of recruitment becomes central in further growth phase
NOVA has hired Alexander Dybdahl in a newly created position as Head of Recruitment. The position will be an important part of NOVA's growth journey.
Alexander will work on attracting and recruiting the best experts to our specialist environments in the NOVA group.
He has several years of experience from the recruitment industry and comes from one of the country's leading IT recruitment companies, Glasspaper, where he has worked on recruiting IT specialists since 2014.
- I have always enjoyed working with people and sales. Recruitment is an exciting, yet challenging job with people on both sides of the table. When you are passionate about technology yourself it is extra fun to combine my interest in one of the country's leading expert environments. After several years in the industry, you learn to know the different environments and which specializations provide the best conditions for successful hires that meet both the candidate's and the company's expectations. Recruitment is also a rewarding job that brings a lot of joy, says Alexander.
When asked why Alexander wanted to start at NOVA, he says it was an opportunity he couldn't pass up.
With a stated goal of being the world's best workplace, everything is in place for an exciting growth journey that I look forward to being a part of.
- NOVA's specialist environments have a good reputation in the industry. As a recruiter, it is an advantage to recruit for companies that are skilled at what they do. This means you get a hearing with candidates in an otherwise tough market. NOVA has managed to maintain the small expert environments with the interpersonal at the center, which I see as a great advantage. The employees are the greatest value and it is the basis for NOVA's core values and business model. With a stated goal of being the world's best workplace, everything is in place for an exciting growth journey that I look forward to being a part of, Alexander continues.
We are so pleased that Alexander is in place at NOVA. He has exactly the specialized expertise in recruitment that is important to us, and he will be a strong contributor to our growth.
Strong professional environment
With nearly 300 expert employees, the NOVA group today consists of nine companies in Norway and Sweden. At NOVA, employee involvement and ownership are highly valued. As the head of recruitment, Alexander has clear ambitions for new hires in the time ahead.
- People and their expertise are the core of NOVA's values. I therefore look forward to helping shape an agile recruitment process that allows us to attract the best minds in the industry. NOVA has all the prerequisites to stand out from the rest of the market, which is important, says Alexander.
What is a successful recruitment process for you?
- In a market where there is a shortage of candidates, presenting a good story and conveying the essence of what you do and what is unique about the company is essential. Why should the candidate choose us over others? We as employers need to get better at selling ourselves, and realize that the market has changed from "why should we hire you?" to "why should I choose to work for you?". Showing what the candidate gets to be part of and help build in terms of societal value, combined with a professional career boost, is important, says Alexander.
Focus on a good and smooth recruitment process
- A good recruitment always starts with a focus on a good and smooth candidate experience, often I, as a recruiter, am the first contact. It must be ensured that the selection is as unbiased as possible and that the candidate experiences a fair and smooth process. All candidates should receive feedback - regardless of the outcome, Alexander continues.
- Another important aspect is to be visible in the market, both as a recruiter, but not least as a company. Employer branding is becoming more and more important in a market where competition is fierce and the differences between the various consulting firms can be harder to distinguish. The fact that NOVA has taken such a clear position that they should be specialist environments rather than generalists, I see as a great advantage, Alexander concludes.
