Twelve agencies to unite under one NOVA brand

NOVA Consulting Group will unite its twelve subsidiaries under a single NOVA brand from January 1, positioning the company for growth in a more competitive and AI-driven market.

"Our ambition is to build on our strengths while removing barriers to collaboration and growth," says Geir Allan Hove, CEO of NOVA Consulting Group.

Since its founding in 2007, NOVA Consulting Group has followed a strategy of building highly specialized consulting environments centered around senior expertise. Through both acquisitions and new ventures, the group has expanded into new technology domains and geographical markets.

Today, NOVA consists of twelve companies across Norway and Sweden, employing more than 500 people and generating annual revenues of nearly NOK 1 billion.
Now, the group is undertaking the largest transformation in its history. From January 1, all subsidiaries will be brought together under the NOVA brand.

We believe our specialist-driven model is well suited to the future of the technology industry, and that AI will only increase the demand for deep senior expertise. At the same time, we see clients increasingly looking for partners that can deliver across disciplines. By uniting our companies, we can assemble stronger, senior-led teams that combine expertise across technologies, industries, and business challenges," says Hove.

He emphasizes that the goal is not to become another large, centralized consulting firm.

"On the contrary, we will continue to build on the qualities that have made us successful: specialization, professional excellence, and local autonomy. What changes is that we will make it easier for our experts to collaborate across disciplines and pursue the most exciting and complex client opportunities together."

Building on existing strengths

The new organization will be structured around four business areas, reflecting NOVA's strongest capabilities and greatest growth opportunities.

The first business area will focus on strategy, transformation, and customer experience, bringing together the expertise currently found in Northern Beat and the newly established NovaNXT.

The second business area will focus on Microsoft technologies and business transformation and will be built around the capabilities currently delivered by Point Taken.

The third business area will unite Epinova, Novacare, Pineberry, Rocket, and Dekode. Together, they will form one of the largest digital services environments in the Nordic region, with combined annual revenues exceeding NOK 500 million. The business area will provide services across web development, e-commerce, digital experience platforms, and marketing.

The fourth business area will serve as NOVA's spearhead within AI, data, and analytics, combining the expertise of Novanet and Egde.

In addition, NOVA has identified cybersecurity as a strategic growth area and plans to establish a dedicated business area through future acquisitions.

Explore Equity: AI represents a major opportunity

Explore Equity has been a minority shareholder in NOVA Consulting Group since 2020, holding a 45 percent ownership stake. According to Investment Director Mats Erik Mikkelsen, the reorganization is driven by long-term strategy rather than operational efficiency.

We believe this transformation will make NOVA significantly better positioned to take a leading role in the AI era. With its strong concentration of senior talent and expertise in technology advisory and transformation, NOVA already has a strong foundation. Bringing the group together enables faster execution, stronger collaboration, and a greater ability to capture the opportunities AI presents.

Hove emphasizes that Explore Equity, the company's owners, and management are fully aligned behind the decision.

"We are making these changes now because we want to shape our own future and build the next chapter of NOVA on our own terms. This is not about becoming smaller, cutting costs, or moving away from what has made us successful. It is about bringing our strengths together so we can continue to grow, win larger and more complex assignments, share expertise more effectively, and create even more opportunities for our people."
